If you love Halloween like we do, follow @haunted_spouse now! What was your favourite Halloween outfit as a kid? My favorite Halloween costume was probably “The Wolfman” in 1979. I made it from one of my mom’s wig and wore it on my face! So much fun being something scary. You’re attending a Halloween party and time and money is no object what costume/look do you create? Money is no object? Probably either “Mars Attacks!” Martian Girl or Lucy from “Bram Stoker’s Dracula”. I usually go all out anyway. This would be more of having the time to make it.(Mars Attacks Martian girl)(Lucy, Dracula makeup designed by Michele Burke) Conversely: You have ten dollars to make a costume, what do you buy/what do you go as? Most likely I would spend $10 on fangs and create a vampire costume from the clothes I own.Is there a character/look you’ve seen in film/tv in the past year that you think would make a great costume? There are a bunch of fun characters from the show I did called “Ratched”. Also obsessed with “Raised by Wolves” AI’s and also “Lovecraft Country”. (Makeup from 'Ratched' designed by Eryn)What’s your top tip for someone looking to do their own makeup this year, who maybe has never tried it before? Be careful with anything you have to heat up before applying! Yikes! What are your top 5 Halloween films?Top 5 films!Halloween (1978)Hocus PocusPractical MagicBram Stoker’s DraculaBride of Frankenstein From Candy Corn to Caramel apples Halloween goes hand in hand with indulgence. Do you have a favourite Halloween treat? I make witch’s hats cookies; peanut butter cookie with a chocolate kiss for the witch’s point of the hat. My mom made them when I was little and I’ve been making them forever too.Do you have any Halloween traditions or rituals? Most years we have a huge Halloween party. We’ve been doing them for 25 years. We always attend Halloween Horror Nights, LA Haunted Hayride, and all kinds of theme things. This year has obviously been different and no party. Lots of fun drive-through experiences! We usually have trick or treaters and then go over the see what performance the Bakers are putting on their front driveway! Some say that on Halloween, the spirits of the dead return to earth for one night. Whose spirit would you chose to spend your Halloween with?My nana-the original Queen of Halloween. Every years from the time we were very little she told us ghost stories dressed up as a witch. It’s the reason I love this holiday so much (and also my love of monsters)If you were to create your own HHN style haunted house, what would be your chosen theme? I did get to create my own HHN maze for two years in a row based on our designs from American Horror Story. One of the best experiences and honors in my career. So much fun! And finally do you have any Halloween plans for this year? We’ve done a few drive-thru events and we will be going to Nights of the Jack. Also socially distanced trick or treating at our house-we’ve decorated our yard a bunch this year. The kids are so excited to at least visit one place. |Big thanks to Eryn for taking time out of her filming schedule to be part of our Halloween blog. Happy Halloween to the Krueger Mekash family!
